Where I Practice
As The Anxiety Specialist, I generally offer sessions that are online-based using Google Meet - this helps keep the costs down for clients, and allows me to work with a wide range of people from across the UK and abroad.
Individual online sessions (1hr) are £85 for adults & teens, and £75 for children still at primary school (up to Y6).
Sessions are booked and paid for via the online booking system.
If you would prefer to work in-person and are in the area, I have a number of therapy practices in South-East UK, please see the Holistic Therapy site.
More About Anxiety...
Anxiety And The Subconscious Mind
Anxiety is a natural but often unhelpful response to situations that your subconscious mind perceives as unsafe. Its primary job is to protect you, so it constantly scans its "database" of past experiences to find a match to any given situation to keep you safe now and in the future. This can lead to the activation of the fight-or-flight response, preparing you for a threat — even if that threat isn't real or even sensible.
This can be linked to a range of other mental health conditions such as OCD and phobias, and can be heightened in neurodivergent individuals with ADHD and autism, and those with the Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) or Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) traits.
The Impact Of Long-Term Anxiety
While activating the fight-or-flight response is fine in the short term, constant exposure to stress hormones like cortisol can have serious effects on your physical and mental well-being.This can lead onto a range of health problems including short-term memory loss, poor immune system functioning or dysregulation (as seen in conditions such as IBS), weight gain, poor sleep / insomnia, and fear of anxiety itself (phobophobia).
How Cognitive Hypnotherapy Helps Overcome Anxiety
Cognitive Hypnotherapy works with the mental contributors to anxiety and panic. It doesn't just focus on the symptoms; it helps you access the subconscious mind to change the old, unhelpful patterns and beliefs that fuel your anxiety. This relaxing and solution-focused process helps you reprogram your mind for a calmer, more confident state.
The Anxiety Specialist - Integrated & Complimentary Therapy
I believe in a holistic approach to mental well-being. Cognitive Hypnotherapy is a highly effective standalone treatment for anxiety, but is also used successfully in conjunction with other therapies including Nutritional Therapy (for anxiety with a potential biochemical cause or contributor), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) which is often offered on the NHS and can be a useful tool on its own or alongside Cognitive Hypnotherapy for a comprehensive approach.Ultimately, the most important factors for successfully eliminating excessive anxiety are a strong therapeutic relationship with those you work with and your willingness to change.
